Gothic arch challenge free choice

The challenge on Gothic arches this week is a free theme, so I have put on one I did a while ago. It is of three generations of my family, with my Great Grandma at the top. Little did she know she would feature on an arch one day on the internet.

Dans ma maison Vintage

This week the Dans ma maison challenge is vintage. As I love doing anything vintage I thought I would have a go. The background is inked and collaged, with added images. The lace was added to look like the roof, and a strip at the bottom to finish it off.

My page for Astrid

This is my page for Astrid, in the Round Robin. Her subject is 'Children from a bygone age' I liked this image of the two little boys playing outside, so gave them some snow to play in. I did this with some embossing powder that puffs up when heated. The background is inked and stamped, with a light covering of Gesso to make it look wintery. The back page is made from paper that I clean my encaustic iron on, so it's slightly waxy, I then stamped that and added an image. The wording is " My brothers are playing in the snow. I have to stay in. They gave me a lollypop to keep me quiet. It won't work

Make a Moo or Two Autumn

The challenge on Make a moo or two this week is Autumn. To me Autumn is misty days, fallen leaves, birds flying home, conkers and acorns. http://makeamooortwo.wordpress.com

4 x 4 Friday -- Stencil

This week the task was to use stencils. This is a sort of reverse stencil, and I'm not sure if I like it or not

Make a moo or two Cities of Europe

Make a moo or two this week is Cities. I have chosen London and Paris for my two

Sunday postcard art challenge - Flowers

The Sunday postcard challenge this week is Flowers. I love poppies, so based my postcard on them. The poppies are all painted with twinkling H2Os, and the background is inked and stamped.

Created by hand challenge

This is my first time on this challenge, and the subject is Green and Pink. I have made a 4" x 4" so that it will fit in my chunky book.

Gothic arch challenge -- Time

The Gothic arch challenge this week is Time. I have called mine forgotten time, and added vintage images.
I inked the background, and stamped various images onto it. I then added the two pictures and the scroll. The watch face on the scroll is a real one that I aged with ink

Gothic Arch -- Pink

The Gothic arch challenge this week is Pink. Not my favourite colour to work with, and I rarely use just pink. I was going to say that I don't wear pink either, but glancing down I seem to have a pink T-shirt on. How did that happen !!! Anyway here it is, a bit late as there seems to be a very large entry this week. Everyone must be back off their holidays.

4 x 4 Friday -- Grungeboard

The challenge on 4" x 4" Friday this week is Grungeboard. I love using it as it's so versatile. I have used it for the wings for this little angel. I am doing a 4 x 4 chunky book and this fits in nicely with my theme.
I have inked and stamped the background, and added papers and the images afterwards. http://4x4friday.wordpress.com

Round Robin page for Femmy

This is the page I did for Femmy, whose subject was 'Outdoors'
I inked the page with colours indicating the sky, sea, and sand. I used distress powder on the sand to make it feel like sand, and added air dry , friendly plastic, and stamped shells. The picture is of myself and my late brother with friends at the seaside in Lincolnshire, where we used to go every year. The fish were stamped, and quotations and seagulls added. I hope Femmy likes it.

Tags

I'm in a tag mode now, and just enjoy doing them. The bottom one is for a swap using the bandana technique. That is where you go round the image with a white pen, and also doodle a bit along the way as well. It sort of makes the image 'pop' out. Well it's supposed to anyway. The other two are done on watercolour paper, using distress inks that I put onto a craft sheet, misted with water, and then put the paper on top. The only problem being that the paper was too rough to stamp on. So I collaged them.
