Show us your twinchies - Holidays and destinations

The theme for Show us your Twinchies is holidays. As it's nearly on the last day for entries, I quickly made two cards with the twinchies ( 2" x 2") The backgrounds are coloured with distress inks and stamped with Versafine ink. Note to self : Make them earlier next time.

Every Inchie Monday -- Song

This week on Every Inchie Monday, the subject is song. I thought of bird song straight away, and out came the shrink plastic. I made a tag, and a saying. The saying is 'A bird does not sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song'

Every Inchie Monday -- Pocket watch

This week on Every Inchie Monday, the subject is pocketwatch. Once again shrink plastic was used on an inked and stamped background. I also added a small chain to the larger watch.
I have been away on a course, and the picture just would not load from my iPad, so here it is.

Try it on Tuesday -- Create a scene

This week  on Try it on Tuesday the challenge is to create a scene. I decided it was time I did some more hand felting, so  created a Scottish/Welsh landscape. I used wool tops and felted it on to black felt. It is postcard size.

Tag Tuesday -- Complementary colours.

For this tag, for Tag Tuesday, I couldn't resist a sea type scene, as I love blue and orange together, The background of the tag is tissue paper, that I put under card that I am spraying, These come in very useful for covering tags with. I stamped the fish on orange card, and cut them out. When they were in place, I added some fibres for seaweed.

Every Inchie Monday - Grey

This week on Every Inchie Monday, it's Grey, a bit like the weather. I've been away at the Festival of Quilts, and then to my daughter's to look after the boys. The result is -- I am way behind with everything. As I am away at Summer school next week I will be going round in circles this week, trying to get up to date.
The first thing that came to mind for gray was the book ( No I haven't read it) 50 Shades of Gray, so I made a little book. The second was some stitching, that I managed to get done after I went to bed. The light wasn't very good, and the felt backing stretched out of shape a bit.
Go have a look at all the other interpretations of grey, we are all very different this week.

Artful Times & Try it on Tuesday

This project was suitable for two challenges, Artful Times 'Lets ribble', and Try it on Tuesday Collage with script.
I used some packaging, and ripped off some of the surface to show the corrugated part. I gesssoed it, then painted it with Fresco Chocolate pudding, a coat of crackle glaze, then a coat of Fresco Vintage lace, letting them dry in-between coats. Unfortunately you can hardly see the crackle, as it's covered up with collage.
I stamped a sewing themed bit of script onto the smooth part.I then added the collage and the die cuts.
It will either be a hanging, or a book cover.

Beach hut

This beach hut was for a swap on the Mixed Media Group, where we were given the measurements and the rest was up to us. We all chose Shabby Chic for the style. I painted the card, and door in a light Fresco paint, then added some crackle glaze, then a coat of the blue. Left this to crackle, and embossed a separate piece of card and cut it into strips. I painted this with a lime green Fresco paint, and glued it onto the hut. I then added all the embellishments. I hasten to add the fishing net took me ages, as I'm not good with wire, and sticking the net on with UHU, was a very sticky affair.

This week on Tag Tuesday, I decided to do a fabric tag, as weddings conjure up lace, and flowers to me. I used pelmet vilene as a base, printed out a picture of the bridesmaids onto fabric, and started layering up the lace with the image. I added some lace flowers to finish off.

Every Inchie Monday -- Evil

This week on Every Inchie Monday we have to portray evil. The devil springs to mind, but I decided on a witch. I made two as I got carried away with the shrink plastic. The backgrounds are coloured in with distress inks, and after applying the shrink plastic witches, I drew in some bats, cobwebs and a cauldron.
